Discovery at its best:
Most of us don't know what Pi is
except that we know that today is Pi Day.
So, equipped with a string, a bunch of circles and a calculator,
we go on a Math Adventure to discover "What is Pi?"
First we measure around the circles with a piece of string (the perimeter):
Then we measure how long the string is:
Then we measure across the circles (the diameter):
We divide the perimeter by the diameter:
Since most of us have not officially done division, especially long division,
we use a calculator to do the math.
We compare our findings and discover that they are very close to each other!
We learn that Pi is a number rounded to 3.14--in other words, today's date!
We enjoy some "Pi".
