Coding for First Graders: https://scratch.mit.edu/

We're getting equipped for the future!

Quotes from the website that fit right in with our Seabury ethos:
"Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century."

"The ability to code computer programs is an important part of literacy in today’s society. When people learn to code in Scratch, they learn important strategies for solving problems, designing projects, and communicating ideas."

Every First Friday of the month, both the middle and lower schools at Seabury get together for enrichment classes. This month the Navigators were greatly enriched by some of their older friends who offered to teach how to code. In typical eager-beaver, no-fear, I've-always-wanted-to-do-this manner, we logged onto Scratch and got started!
