How important is it to have standard units of measurement? If you're a king with big feet having a 3 X 6 foot bed made for the queen it is very important. We all found this to be true as we set out to measure the dimensions of the queen's bed using our own feet and using a standard foot measurement (AKA a ruler.)
Even though we had different approaches to figuring out the problem we all discovered the importance of standardized measurement. The size of the beds made with our own foot measurements were very different and much too small even for us to sleep in!
