November 15, 2013 I-Pads and The Island of Mathematica

The crew of the SS Seabury went on yet another Math Adventure, this time to the Island of Mathematica. Our task was to use our mathematical minds to figure out what some mysterious ancient artifacts were. Equipped with our new i-Pads, we set off on this daunting but not impossible adventure, documenting each step along the way.

Step 1. Receiving our orders.

Step 2. Trying every angle. Noticing patterns. Making hypotheses.

Step 3. Starting to see patterns. Finding a solution!

Step 4. Documenting our findings on paper and on the i-Pads. (Notice our guests from South Korea in the background. They are observing how Seabury School does differentiated, open-ended math curriculum.)

Step 5. Sharing our methods and our results with our SS Seabury shipmates.

Step 6. Enjoying math, technology and our fellow shipmates. Eager to take on the next task, especially if it involves i-Pads!
