May 21, 2013 Tillicum Village Salmon Bake

The Navigators and Sharks enjoyed a top-notch field trip to Tillicum Village on Blake Island. What a great way to end our year of studying the Pacific Coast salmon, the Puget Sound ecosystem and Washington State History.

Seabury Navigators 2013 Spring Performing Arts Program Dress Rehearsal

The Navigators wrote the words to and choreographed this performance of "It's Raining Brains." They also sang a song about 32 of the most well known bones in the human body including the occipital, parietal and zygomatic bones!

May 10, 2013 Zoo Snooze in the Shark Tank

The Navigators and many of their parents spent a delightful, educational, zany, bonding, enriching overnight at the Point Defiance Zoo's "Zoo Snooze." We touched the new-to-the-zoo sting rays, had a fish scavenger hunt, did a craft, had some popcorn, took a flashlight tour of the zoo amidst the cacophony of frogs, got ready for bed, had another snack, slept in the shark tank (well, not IN the shark tank although some wanted to), woke up way before the alarm clock, experienced a hurricane, had breakfast, made enrichment toys for the apes, watched more animals including the apes playing with their toys, said our good-byes and went home ready to do it again and ready for naps! The zookeepers kept saying, "These kids are smart!" Little do they know...
